A wild weekend

this picture is for you Lanny!

We thought these were cute pictures of our son and we wanted to share them with you!  We went to a Garden festival and went inside a butterfly tent to feed the butterflies.  One landed on his head, which was adorable.  We have to admit though that we cheated and put the syrup on Evan's head.  It's still a cute picture.

It's hard to say goodbye

This week the father of one of my good friends passed away. Jose Lincoln has struggled with cancer for many years. My parents were with the family all week long in the hospital and when he passed. The funeral was today in San Diego and it is very hard for me to not be there. The Lincoln family is one of the most wonderful families that I know. I will miss Jose very much. My dad took this picture at the funeral. Alex, Jose's son, is sitting in the center. Claudia, my dear friend and his daughter is on the right of Alex and Rosario, Jose's wife is on the left of Alex. I know Jose is in a better place and I will see him again, but it is still hard.

Easter and a baptism

Easter weekend we drove down to Deltona and attended the baptism of a very good friends daughter. It was so beautifully done, reminded me of a wedding. I got to play a beautiful version of "I am a Child of God" on the oboe. We loved it. The next day was Easter sunday and Evan had a ball looking for easter eggs in the yard with the rest of the kids. We had a great weekend.

Our New Home

The biggest news we have to report is that we bought a house while we were in Canada!!!! It is perfect for our family. So perfect its as if we had built it ourselves. Here are some videos we took during the inspection, so you can get an idea of the downstairs at least.

Ok, so our family just got back from a two week vacation in Canada.  I do have to admit that it was a one week of work and the next week of vacation for us Palmer's.  Justin flew up by himself to take his Canadian dental boards.  He got to stay with my grandma who currently lives in Edmonton.  I had a concert that weekend so flew with Evan as soon as that was over.
I spent the month before looking online for houses and setting up appointments with a realtor.  That was our first task at hand in the great white north (although truthfully said it was the great brown north while we were there).  We looked at about 8 different homes and there was a definite winner.  Long story short . . . we bought it!!!
The second week we were there our friends from Florida came out for our "friend" vacation.  It was a blast to say the very least.  We had so much fun skiing at kicking horse ski resort, ice-fishing, horse back riding, and quading at Justin's mom's ranch, and exploring Calgary.  Thank you Da Costa's and Lowry's for coming with us to Canada and for being such amazing friends.  We LOVE you so much!!!
