Our House

Do you remember back in May when we bought the lot for our new accessible house? Well, it took a long time designing our new home, making sure it will meet all of our specific needs. We are happy to report that it is well on its way and we couldn't be more excited! Everything is almost done. We are signing off on all the details this week. The biggest news? Even our application for elevator funding was approved ... THANK YOU SAFEWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Major stress in our life is over!! Now we just wait and visit every day :-) No joke, we are there almost every day checking it out.

The cutest thing regarding the house? Every time we take the boys to look at it Evan wants to see where his room is going to be and always talks about his elevator. The last time we took him and showed him his room he said ... "yeah, this is my room and I can come up here all by myself in my elevator!" This house is a dream come true for our little family.

Enjoy the progress pictures.

in the boys room

we went to see the house late at night right after the weather dropped and there was about 2 feet of snow inside the entire house. I wonder how they get rid of that?? It will be a good story later:-)

My Momcation in Vegas!!

Once we said goodbye to our family I jumped in the car with my Dad, Mom, and siblings and hitched a ride to Vegas!! We pulled into Planet Hollywood parking and met my moms friend Danny. They were really good friends in high school and let me tell you I can see why! Danny is one of the nicest, most genuine, lovely people I have ever met. I loved the time that I got to get to know him.
This is the view from our hotel room!
first day we get to Vegas we went to a dance rehearsal with Danny. Danny is the global creative director for Jersey Boys and was hired by a conference to choreograph a flash mob ... that we got to be in!!!! Yup ... my mom and I got to be in a flash mob and it was AWESOME!!
here is Danny and my beautiful mom during the rehearsal.

Danny was the BEST tour guide ever!
and a great photographer as well.
That night Danny got us to into Jersey Boys. It was a lovely show, with some aspects that blew my mind!! Beware though ... it has quite a bit of language.
The next morning we woke up bright and early and went to our flash dance, where we literally led the audience into their seats to see a short performance of the Jersey Boys. What was really cool was that we got to meet the cast afterwards :-)
the mayor of Las Vegas wasn't invited into the picture, but ran in to make sure he got his head in. Kind of makes me laugh.
more touring ... check out these cakes!!!!

this stair case has beautiful shells embedded into them, it was really stunning.

what a beautiful restaurant.

we also went to the Titanic exhibit together. It was incredible and I was blown away by how powerful it was. I just read that the exhibit is coming to Calgary. If you are around, you need to go. There may not be all of the things there, but I think the experience will still be incredible.

that evening Mom and I went to the Beatles Love Cirque de Soleil show .......
Aaa---freakin---mazing!!!!!!!!!!
I don't even know what else to say!

Miss America was taking place at the Planet Hollywood while we were staying there. We saw some of the contestants, former winners, and Joy Beher!

yup ... Miss America and Porn stars. Yes I did indeed join the crowd and took a ton of pictures of Holly Madison. She was beautiful ... FAKE, but beautiful. Actually she was kind of a snot.

these little cakes were soooo beautiful

we just had to get this beautiful little key lime pie. Unfortunately it has an accident at the Phantom of the Opera and ended up looking like this.
Mom and I got frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity and man is that sinful!!! I was so glad we got it to share because I could have easily put that away by myself and shouldn't.

we didn't get to go the the Cher concert (though Danny did and got to meet "the naked old broad") She used to be soooo skinny!

Danny took us backstage of the Jersey Boys set ... so fun!

these are the two shows we saw
yes ... I did eat this
I cannot even begin to tell you how great our seats were for cheap cheap cheap!!! It really is all about who you know. We were 5th row, close to the middle ... all for $35

Our last day together Mom and I got breakfast in Paris. What a great idea that was!

I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it was for me to spend this kind of time with my mother! I love and respect her so much and I have never gotten this kind of one on one time with her. I love that I can spend that much time with her and we never run out of things to talk about whether the subject is deep or not. I love that she makes me laugh (we could talk about the ATM machine ;-) I can easily say that I am the woman that I am today because of my mother. I love you mom!!! Thank you for such a fantastic, wonderful, unforgettable vacation!!!!

The last day that we were there I got to see my old room mate Jen. I have always loved her and still love her so much. Jen and I were blessed with such wonderful room mates. I would say we were all soul mates in heaven. I love you girls and Jen ... thank you for being so great. Thank you for letting me see you and your beautiful family.
