Garbage soup and Spam

Back in the summer time when I knew that money would be tight, I did a lot of research on different ways to save money. I pride myself on making yummy healthy meals for cheap and being able to keep our grocery bills lower than a lot of other people. (I said I don't enjoy cooking, not that I don't make good meals)

One of the idea's I got last summer was a meal called garbage soup. Most everyone has that little amount of food left over from most meals that is too little for left overs and so they throw it away. Garbage soup is made from those. Anytime there is food left over that you would normally throw away you stick it in a container in the freezer, regardless of whether you think it goes together or not. When the container is full, you put anything else you feel like together with the contents of that container and make a soup. I have expanded that idea to freezing food in my fridge that I know we won't finish before it goes bad.

This is my second time making garbage soup and I have to say that it was another huge success!!! I know that it sounds kind of gross, and as you are making it (aka: throwing everything together from the last several months) you wonder to yourself if it is even going to taste good, but so far it has tasted really good both times! Try it .... you might be surprised, and save money too!

Tonight I was informed that I am a spammer! I am one of the people in charge of my high school directors retirement celebration. It is a monumental task considering that the band at my high school has approximately 400 people in it every year and he taught at my school about 25 years. I made a list of one year in Excel and then spent the day finding those I could on facebook and sending them the information about the celebration. I got to my second to last page of names and got a warning from facebook that my suspicious activity could be annoying to others and that if I continued to abuse the application my account could be terminated permanently! I was shocked ... and that is when Justin informed me that I am a spammer and it wanted me to stop. I hope that by taking a break for today I will be able to at least finish my list tomorrow! I don't want to lose my account. Any suggestions?

Crazy about the spam thing from Facebook but understandable. My suggestions would be to contact them (I'm sure there is place there where it shows you how to do that) and tell them what you are doing. I got Erin Pahlke's info for you last night and I'll email it. As far as the garbage soup goes I've been freezing little bits of things and throwing them into other meals for years but I didn't have a name for it :D

So, I want to know what exactly you put in your garbage soup. Because my leftovers would consist of... taco meat, risotto, mashed potatos, salad, and many other not soup items. Help!!!

Leftovers? What are those? Any leftovers we have gets turned into a snack later on or a part of the next days lunch. Next to nothing goes to waste.
