Disappointed, but doing ok

I have to say that we were fairly upset by the American Idol results.  Our family gets very into this show every year.  This year we absolutely fell in love with David Archuleta.  I was glad that it was the two David's in the finale, but we severely hoped that Archuleta would win.  We knew it would be close, which is why between Justin, Irene, and I we got in 53 votes.  Unfortunately it wasn't enough to save our boy tonight.  I am just glad that towards the end of the season Cook started to show his emotions and shed his cocky shell.  He really seemed touched by winning the competition.  I have always thought he was a great performer, but my heart still goes out to David Archuleta.  I sure do hope that he has success as a result of being on this show.  I love good entertainment.

It took three of you to get in 53 votes? I did more than that by myself and I'm sure mom got twice that many in.

Hear you on this one...been eating comfort food all day! The little guy has a great future ahead of him even if he didn't win. If not as a pop artist, he will make the most incredible EFY recording artist of all time!

I'm glad you're okay. I know it was pretty touch and go for a while.

I wept great tears...not really.

We were sad too! We loved David A and he is much better musically than David Cook. I like David Cook also but his style is limited. He has a certain genre and there are already many artists like that; Daughtry & Switchfoot to name a couple. I don't agree with a lot of the critics who say that David A will only be good for Broadway (they compare him to Clay Aiken). Anyone who saw him play the piano & sing the Billy Joel song can see...

that he could go that route, as well as the Josh Grobin route. He also proved on the final night singing with One Republic that he can go that route also. In fact, he sang the song better than the lead singer!!! David Cook's song with ZZ Topp was not hard and I could have sung it that well! I'm glad someone else saw David Cook as being a little cocky for awhile also. I got hammered for saying that. I too was glad to see him soften a bit. My bet is we will see more of Daivd A in the future than we will.....

of David Cook. I can't wait for David A to put all the naysayers to rest!!!
He was just so sweet, humble and always smiling while he was on. I was very impressed with how well he handled the announcement the other night. That's not always an easy thing for a 17 yr. old teenager to do. He is still developing and growing. I can't wait to see what is in store for him!!! Sorry for the long posts. I couldn't help myself. P.S. Speaking of 17 yr. olds it was my 17 yr. old that got me hooked on this show.

okay, okay, okay. Just one more comment on this. Just heard Leona Lewis on the radio singing "Bleeding Love." Do you remember when she performed this live on American Idol and was already walking off and said to Ryan S that she just wanted to say Hi to David? Did you catch how David Cook stood up because he was so sure it was him and then she went over and sat next to David A? It was priceless!! David A was blushing, smiling and so sweet and unassuming unlike the other David. Heck she said she'd even go to prom with him!!!

I was sad too. I thought he did a good job and should have won.

I do remember when that happened, but it was actually Natasha Beddingfield. I don't mind long posts, it gives me something to read in my blog obsession!

I was so positive it was Leona Lewis singing "Bleeding Love" that I went online and googled it. It was Leona Lewis that sang and not Natasha Beddingfield. They even have the performance on You Tube.

Leona Lewis sang Bleeding Love on the show, but it was Natasha Beddingfield who wanted to meet David Archuleta. She was singing pocket full of sunshine. They are both amazing!

You're right it was her. I had to go and check again. They actually show her performance on You Tube and it shows David Cook standing up assuming it was him she wanted to meet and then she goes and sits next to unassuming David A hugs him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. I love it!!
