Reality TV: Happy Watching!!!!

So this season of reality TV has been soooo much fun for me!!! I always wondered what it would be like to know someone on TV and now I can tell you that it makes watching it WAY more FUN!!! Let's first start with:

THE BIGGEST LOSER
I am connected to Blaine (on the left) so many ways. He is 2 years older than me (I am the same age as his brother) and we grew up in the same ward. They used to live down the street from us, his mom watched us when my mom gave birth to Sarah. Then to make things even closer ... my brother married his sister last year!

It has been so fun to watch Blaine and his cousin on this season. I usually cry during the show, but I cry all the time now because I feel emotionally connected. Last weeks episode when they flew him out to surprise his wife Jenny, when she was giving birth to their 4th child was the worst. I was sobbing on the couch, and I already knew that it was going to happen.

I have been most impressed with Blaine's character. He was always a good guy growing up, but it is nice to see that he is still that good guy. I love watching him pump up the other contestants. Even this week when Joelle got voted off, Blaine was the only one who even acknowledged her presence in the room.

We have just had the best time watching you Blaine ... great job!!!!

AMERICAN IDOL
Now you should know that this is my favorite reality show on TV. Justin and I have been to 2 concert tours and had the time of our life while there.

The first contestant is Arianna Afsar. I do not personally know her, but the rest of my family does. She is friends with my brother and is in his graduating class this year. Alex said that after her audition aired they congratulated her over the loud speakers. How cool is that? Good Luck Arianna.

The next AI contestant is Adam Lambert. I have bragged to a lot of people about how lucky I was to be a part of the music program at Mt. Carmel High School. It is there that I got my start and I believe is where I really began to believe that I was an oboe player. The example that I always give to people is our musical productions. Within the musical productions I always give the example of "Secret Garden". And within "The Secret Garden" I always give the example of Adam Lambert singing "Lilly's eyes". Now I have known Adam for a long time. We were even math partners in 7th grade. He has always been amazing and I knew that he had succeeded in broadway productions. When I heard him sing on Idol I was blown away and so excited because he is totally going to win!!!! Great Job Adam and know that there is at least one house hold that is rooting for you!!!!!

I think it is just so cool that two people on Idol this year are from the same community. Not just San Diego, but Rancho Penasquitos!!!!

To see just how amazing he is look up: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lvwcJUhIa0U

Oh Yeah, He's going to win!!!!!

Yes, I have to admit it's exciting. I'm not a big reality t.v. watcher but I have been this season because of our connections to the contestants. I too have cried twice with Blaine; first the phonecall home & then when he got to go and surprise Jenny for the birth. I too have been impressed with Blaine's sincere concern & compassion for everyone on the show. That's the Blaine I've always known. FYI, this is the first time I've ever watched Biggest Loser! For American Idol I usually wait until it gets down to the top 12. I can hardly stand to watch the auditions. I've watched it all this year just because of Arianna & Adam. I'm excited for both of them. Another FYI, Arianna was in Alex's winter formal group last weekend. Oh, and I think Adam looks good with dark hair :D Oh, and Blaine has blog about his experience on Biggest Loser http://biggestloserblaine.wordpress.com/

OMGOSH! Biggest Loser is my favorite show. Ever. Period. I totally didn't know Blaine was Mormon but I can totally see it now! That is super cool. We'll have to hook up for an episode. :)

That is SO cool Kira! What a fun season for you to be watching TV.

My kids had the same reaction with a local girl at their high school here in Calgary that won the Canadian Idol show. She is STILL watched so very closely now even to this day.

So many good and talented people everywhere.

Have fun!

Ok so I HATE American Idol...I mean seriously despise it and most people know of my hatred for the show! I have never watched a season and figured this year would be the same...OH NO! I see a preview for the San Francisco auditions, see Adam and now not only do I have to watch this season, because I've known him since like 2nd grade but I actually have to vote for someone on American Idol...talk about irony!

Sweet! Cameron and I have been debating if Blaine was somehow connected to Mormonism, he is such a great guy. I was waiting for you to mention in this blog which bachelorettes you know (from the Bachelor)...oh wait :). We live for reality t.v., and completely understand your excitement.

That is so awesome that you know those two on American Idol!! I liked Adam Lambert when I first saw him audition, because he was on Broadway (which I love!). I saw Wicked in L.A. in 2007, and I looked back in the playbill, and he was in it! I'm rooting for him too!

Wow, you're basically famous, Kira!

Yeah I've been watching those two shows now too. Kristy sent me an email about Adam auditioning and when he would be on. So I haven't missed a single American Idol. (I'm like your mom...I usually just watch when its down to a couple of people.) Then I was flipping through channels when I could have sworn that I saw someone I recognized on Biggest Loser. I flipped back and was like, "hey I know him, that's Sharley's brother." So yes I have been watching that now too.

I guess we know who to go to for the inside scoop on any idol news. That is pretty cool. Also loved the pictures of Evan scooting around in your previous post. Congratulations on so many levels - the only thing missing is an actual picture of Justin practicing dentistry. I guess patients probably don't love that sort of thing.
