Go with this one close up. It's just better to have it close up because you want to see the people more than the scenery. I'd rather have a picture of the family not perfect and close up than one perfect and far away. This one looks great cropped and close up!

Yes this one is much better.
The pictures are great and I like the straight on one cause you can see Evan's eyes - but both are really great pictures.
