Unfortunately with our situation as it is I am alone ALOT! I rarely see my husband and it is sometimes tricky to see friends. This is the first time that this kind of thing has happened to me before. Mostly it sucks, but I can tell you something that I think is pretty cool.
Evan is my BEST friend. Seriously he is my little Buddy, and now that he is more expressive and vocal I just have a great time with him. Don't get me wrong, I adore newborns and I have been in nothing less than heaven since we got Evan, but there is something to his being older now. He wants to be with me, and hugs me all the time (not just laying his head on my shoulder, but grabbing onto me), he initiates our kisses, and he gets excited when I talk and play with him. The list goes on and on. Evan truly is my best friend.
Everyone tells you that there is no love stronger than the love you have for your child. I felt it the day he was placed in my arms, but I had no idea that it could grow even more. If it continues like this ... WOW!
Calgary is in a crisis. We have been looking for a family doctor the whole time that we have lived here, and been unsuccessful as of yet. As an adult I don't mind going into a walk in clinic, but I have been stressed and worried about Evan not having a doctor. Great news to report: Evan now has a doctor thanks to his Granny Lanny, who pulled in some favors. I am so relieved!!!!!

Oh that is written better than any other mother could. I could TOTALLY relate to your feelings. It takes me back to my babies when they were small.
Dean has worked two full time jobs our whole married life (long story) and so it gave me opportunity to become great friends with my kids.
You hit it right on the nose about that love and feeling growing as he gets older. My parents tell me it gets even "worse" when you become a grandparent. I can't wait to find out. : D
So happy to hear that you were able to find a family doctor. It really is a crisis here in Calgary.
I can relate too. Parker was about that age when Ryan was in grad school, and he and I were best pals, so much so that I was a little worried about his reaction to a baby brother. (It went just fine.) These little ones are such blessings!
Don't you love being a parent? I really feel sorry for those people who choose not to have a family. They may have all the toys and make fewer sacrifices but they are giving up so much. Being a grandpa is even better but somehow I hadn't counted on the fact that my grandson would be 1,600 miles away.
We are so blessed to learn from and love our children. And your Evan, is one of the cutest ever! Last night, Quin and I were talking about Justin and what a nice and amazing personality he has. I bet his patients love him!
What a great picture of your little man! I'm about to be in the same boat- it sounds like youre working at night, as I will be. I love reading your blog, Kira! We have our own now if you;d like to check it out-

I love that picture of Evan!! Kira you are only now beginning to understand some of the things that I have mentioned to you in the past when I told you that when you had children of your own you would understand where I was coming from. This will only intensify as you continue to grow & progress as a Mother and have many more beautiful memories and experiences with your children.
I love evan too!!! I wanted to officially post how AMAZING your performance was yesterday in church. Wow!!!! As you were playing I was proud to think...(Yeah, you see that talented chick, well she's my friend :) ) I know I am crazy.
P.S. Your the best mom ever!!!
your best friend is astud!!
That is so sweet. I can't wait to see all the different stages that Eva will go through. Isn't being a mom the best?!? (Cute pic of Evan. I love his little baby bum cheeks sticking out of the water.)
It's really cool that Evan is your best friend. Is he more than a year now? Man, time flies. Lily is a little punk. She pulls herself up to so much stuff, but then usually falls over. She expects someone to catch her, or the fall not to hurt. We've been lucky thus far...only minor injuries. I guess her climbing is to be expected considering her daddy.
