Yes, I am guilty

Back at BYU I went fake baking with my room mate Becky, just to see what it was all about. I had never needed it before, so why not have a new experience? My friend Keith wrote me a get well card that night because it is not a healthy activity.

Justin and I moved to Florida and again, I had all the Vitamin D I could ask for (heaven on earth)!!! Now I am an Eskimo living in the great white north and even though the sky is blue my skin is covered up by too many layers of clothing to be healthy. Some people have beautiful skin when they are pale ... I AM NOT ONE OF THEM!!! My skin is like a rotten olive and blotchy. I really do look the best when I am tan and I cannot remember my skin EVER being this white! My vanity took over and I couldn't stand it any longer. The gym was offering a sale on their tanning so I bought a little bit of my own sun. They all say the first step to healing is admitting you have a problem ... right???

My name is Kira, I am tanorexic, and I don't really want to stop.

I don't blame you AT ALL. I'll be your call-a-friend support person...and we'll go together. :)

Shame, shame, shame.

This line was hilarious:

My skin is like a rotten olive

I tried it. Once. I ended up in the loony bin (hospital). Apparently I am allergic to the lights. I completely destroyed my nerve endings. I scratched the heck out of my skin until I was given Valium and told to never go and fake bake again. And now I have to be REALLY careful in natural light too. *sigh*......a pasty white I must be for the rest of my life.

Enjoy!

Woman! If I were up there I'd be right along there with you! :0) Even worse, I've done it a few times here in Florida! Just during the winter, though. :0)

I think I'll live with my whiteness...Peter will always be whiter than me. He laughed at my bottle of rub on tan stuff, I then threw it away.

So funny! I say go for it- at least tanning does not make you stink like spray tan- yuk!

I agree with who ever it was that said you look good either way. I think you should stay pasty white. You look like a beautiful white porcelain doll.

Hey I would be a tanorexic if I could actually tan at all! I am jealous of you olive beauties (even rotten olive is better than mayonnaise-white, right?)

Tell Justin to check the palmertoe AT hotmail and get back with me pronto.

That's funny that you "gained" your addiction at BYU. I "gained" my addiction at Ricks! There was just something nice about looking good, and the break from everything for 10-20 mins.
