Pardon my biased opinion, but I really think it is more irritating trying to play with out of tune violins than out of tune oboes!

I had a rehearsal for the Messiah last night. It was one of those rehearsals that I knew I didn't really need to go to but had to attend because they had never heard me play before. (Oboe is one of those instruments that is either played really well OR NOT).

I am just happy I got there alright (country road signs are REALLY small) and I am happy to be playing regardless of the level!

Let's hope they tune their violins. Find out when and where the performances are so I can pass it along to my Rosemary friends and you can pass it along to yours.

P.S. What did they think of you?

As a violinist I still agree with your assessment. We even annoy ourselves when we practice. That's probably why I switched to the mandolin, so I could practice and have it sound (mostly) pleasant for once.

so sorry we won't be able to make it to the Messiah this year. I am sure it will be as great as it's always been in the past. HAve fun!
